Joseph Horlor was purely a painter of landscapes and coastal scenes, particularly Welsh views but he also worked in Devon and Scotland. He exhibited 13 works at the British Institute and 11 at the Royal Society of British Artists, as well as Suffolk Street. It is known he resided alternately in Bath and Bristol.
