Francis Moltino (1818–1874)
was an Italian painter, who lived in London. He specialised in landscapes and
coastal scenes around
the Isle of Wight and the Thames, during the
early part of his career. He went on to exhibit 30 works in London, 8 at the Royal Academy,
13 at the British Institute and 9 at Suffolk Street. His later work is in the style of Turner
and his subjects are mostly Venetian.
England, Moltino lived at Little Russell Street, Covent Garden, and London and
later in Pimlico.
In later life
he returned to Italy and continued to paint scenes in Venice.
