Andries Vermeulen was born in Dordrecht on 23 March 1763. He was taught by his father, Cornelis Vermeulen to paint and went on to specialize in painting landscapes. His style was very much influenced by Cuyp and Hobbema.
Andries lived and worked in Amsterdam and died there on 5 July 1814.
His works are always full of detail and beautifully observed. His lighting effects owe much to the “Golden Era” of Dutch painting.

Works Represented: Amsterdam; Copenhagen; Frankfurt am Main.
