Literature C70501 STILL LIFE OF FLOWERS ALPHONSE VAN BEURDEN 1878 – 1962 Signed Oil on canvas 33 ½ x 39 ½ inches Framed size Alphonse Van Beurden was born in Antwerp in 1878, son of the sculptor and painter Alphonse Van Beurden Snr. He became a painter of still life, figures and landscapes. Beurden studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp where, like his father, he later became a professor. Also like his father, he was a member of the group of artists called Als ik kan (as I can) group. Alphonse Van Beurden died in Antwerp in 1962.
