Fauret was born on 25 December 1863 in Mugron (Landes). He was a pupil of A. Dupuy at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux and went on to study with J.P. Laurens, Benjamin Constant and Gabriel Ferrier at the Academie Julian.
He became a painter of genre scenes and urban landscapes, moving to becoming a successful illustrator for many publications at that time.
Fauret was a member of the Society of Artists in France from 1897 and was awarded a third-class medal in 1896.
He died on 12 April 1955 in Neuilly-sur-Seine.

A painting by him is in the Bordeaux Museum.
