Arthur Meade was a West Country painter of landscapes and a few paintings with figures.
He exhibited 35 paintings at the Royal Academy from 1888 to 1904. These were mostly landscapes and coastal views.
It is recorded that he lived in London at 68 Great Cumberland Place and 2 Bowling Green, St. Ives, Cornwall.
In 1895 Arthur became a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and in 1909 a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.

He exhibited his paintings, 13 at the Royal Society of Artists Birmingham; 7 at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool; 18 at Manchester City Art Gallery; 1 at New Gallery; 12 at the Royal Society of British Artists and 92 at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
