Edwin Boddington was a London landscape painter
and only son of the artist Henry John Boddington
(1811-1865).
Edwin exhibited 106 works in London, including the Royal Academy from 1854 to 1866; the Royal Society of British artists and the British Institution.
Views on the Thames were his favoured subject and he developed a very personal and recognizable style.
His river scenes are usually painted in a calm evening light, using a range of very dark greens and browns.
