F.O’ Neill Gallagher was an Irish landscape painter.
He lived and worked in France in the district of Corbeil, a small town on the Seine, south of Paris.
He was fascinated by the French Post-Impressionist School of Painters and his work is reminiscent of Monet. Gallagher used a constrained palette of muted blues, greys, pinks and greens to convey the hazy summer morning light, in his paintings of the Seine.
While living in France at 48 Rue St. Spire he sent work back to England and Ireland for exhibition in London and Dublin.
It is known he exhibited at the New English Art Club in 1910.
Although his birth date is not recorded it is believed he died circa 1937.
One of his paintings, A View on the Seine 1915 is in the Ulster Museum, Belfast.
