Dutilleux was born in St. Gilli in 1876. He went on to study at the Academy of Art, Brussels from 1895 to 1896 and became a painter of figures, still life, landscape and marines.
He exhibited for the first time in 1900 and participated with work in the Salons Triennaux in Gand and Liege.
Dutilleux worked for a while on the French Coast.
He lived at Nieuport before World War I, and afterwards depicted the Great Battle L’Yser, which was commissioned by the Belgium Government.
Dutilleux was a member of the Artist Group, Circle Le Labeur, and was a founder member of the Uccle Centre D’Art.
